Geilo – Tuva
First drive to the Skurdalen Valley on rv. 40. Turn off the main road towards Nord Skurdalen. Cross the road at Nedrestølen and drive on on the toll road towards Tuva for approximately 16 kilometres. Tuva Turisthytte sells refreshments and is an excellent starting point for walks on the Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau.

Geilo – Langedrag
Drive towards the Skurdalen Valley on rv. 40, stopping to visit Skurdalen Church on the way. Drive through Skurdalen and turn left towards Tunhovd. The drive takes you along Pålsbufjorden, which is the reservoir for the hydro electrical plant in Nore.
The mountain village of Tunhovd lies 850 metres above sea level. Drive towards Rødberg at the crossroads. After about two kilometres, turn to the left up towards the Langedrag Mountain Farm and School, which lies 1,000 metres above sea level. At Langedrag there is a wildlife park with animals such as wolves, reindeer, wild boars and horses.

Approximate driving time: 2 hours
Alternative route back to Geilo: Drive down to the centre of Rødberg where you will see Nore Power Station. Return to Geilo via Uvdal. A short trip on the village road will take you up to Uvdal Stave Church, which you might want to have a look at before returning to Geilo.
Rallarvegen (the Navvies' Road)
Rallarvegen is one of the most popular and most scenic bicycle rides in Norway. It runs from the vast mountain plateau of Hardangervidda right down to Flåm and the Aurlandsfjord, or Voss.
