Dining in the Hamar region

The Hamar region has several restaurants, cafés and guest farms with menus full of delicacies and tempting dishes made from local ingredients.

This region is the nation's food basket, and home to the Norway's most renowned cookery book authors. Whether you prefer exotic dishes from distant corners of the world, Norwegian farm food or local specialities with a modern twist, you will almost certainly find what you are looking for in the Hamar region.

At the farms, many of the old food and drink traditions, passed down through generations, are still upheld and developed.

A large number of local food producers ensure that catering establishments and shops can offer exciting and award-winning products.

This area is also where the aquavit originates, and Løten's award-winning aquavit ice cream is a further development of this local tradition.

Enjoy traditional food prepared with a new twist combined with a good wine selection at the Guest Farm Bryhni Søndre.

Tingnes Spiseri offers views over Mjøsa and Helgøya. On its á la carte menu are diverse and tasty dishes based on ingredients from the local area. Do not miss the restaurant's homemade sausage and goat cheese ice cream with blackcurrant purée.
