Winter at Høvringen

Høvringen is a traditional cross-country skiing area within Rondane national park.

The mountain community of Høvringen lies 3,300 feet above sea level in the northern part of Gudbrandsdalen and is the gateway to Rondane from the west. The area is known for its stable climate and its good, varied skiing terrain. The marked skiing trails invite you to some fantastic natural surroundings.

Høvringen currently offers about 850 beds for visitors in about ten different places. You can find everything from a simple, self catering cabin to an outdoor pursuits centre, mountain inns, apartments and hotels.

Rondane National Park is the oldest of its kind in Norway. The park was established in 1962 to preserve the nature and the living areas of the wild reindeer and remains to this day a popular area that has many interesting activities on offer.
