Winter in Indre Østfold

When the weather permits, there are great opportunities for cross-country skiing, sledging and skating in Indre Østfold.

A number of cross-country tracks can be found throughout Indre Østfold. In addition there are also two artificial snow tracks - one at Høytorp Fort in Mysen, and the other at Kjölen Sports Center in Marker.

There is also an artificial skating rink in Båstad. The whole region is home to many lakes, which in cold winters freeze over and are used by locals for ice skating.
