Where to stay in Numedal

Numedal has many unusual accommodation options. Here you can spend the night in an old timber storage house, in a train carriage or in a former bank.

Historic stays

Numedal is the valley in Norway with the most log buildings dating from the Middle Ages. Surrounded by timber houses, Stabbursnatt offers accommodation in old storage houses with all the modern comforts. You can also experience a traditional farm setting at Nordre Underberget Farm, where rustic atmosphere comes with modern facilities too.

Did you know that Uvdal Hostel was formerly a bank,  the sheriff's farm and the local prison? Today the hostel can accommodate 44 guests but has still kept many of the rooms in the original style of the house. Sevletunet, meanwhile, is an 18th century farm where you can stay in apartments in the old barn or in rooms in the main building.

Culinary delights

Lampeland Hotel is well-known for its pleasant atmosphere and delicious home-made food. The hotel has modern, well equipped rooms, and a child-friendly environment.

Rent a canoe, go fishing in the lakes and rivers, have a barbecue or go hiking in the beautiful natural surroundings. Cabins at Uvdal Resort are of a high standard with kitchen facilities and private bathrooms, some also have cable TV and Internet.
