Holmenkollen Ski Jump is the newest in the world, and one of the first designer ski jumps. It also constitues a monument boasting world-class engineering.
At night it is lit up and easy to spot from afar.
It is also possible to visit the top of the ski tower, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Oslo and the Oslofjord.
Between 24 February - 6 March 2011, Holmenkollen will host the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.

Inside the ski jump, the Ski Museum (reopens in May, 2010) presents the history of skiing over the past 4,000 years, as well as the Polar expeditions of Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen and some historic glimpses from the Winter Olympics at Lillehammer in 1994 and in Oslo in 1952.
The new ski jumping hill has a top modern profile. At the same time it will cater for athletes, judges, media and spectators alike. Only the best is good enough, including wind protection systems, ice track machine, improved snow production facilities and new judges' stands.
From Oslo city centre, it takes around 20 - 30 minutes to get to Holmenkollen.
By car: From Ring Road 3, exit at Smestad and follow the signposts to Holmenkollen. From the city centre, there are signposts from Majorstua to Holmenkollen.By underground: This is the easiest way to travel. Take the westbound underground marked Frognerseteren.
