Getting to Ringerike and around

The town of Hønefoss in Ringerike lies 53 kilometres northwest of Oslo, and is the first natural stop on the road E16 from Oslo to Bergen.

By car

The road E16 between Oslo and Bergen will lead you to Ringerike.

From Oslo you first follow the main road E18 to Sandvika, then you follow the E16 to Hønefoss. Distance: 53 kilometres.

From Bergen you follow the E16 to Hønefoss. Distance: 424 kilometres.

From Oslo Airport Gardermoen you follow the road. rv. 35 to Hønefoss. Distance: 66 kilometres.

By bus

There are more than 20 daily departures with Timeekspressen (express bus) leaving from Oslo's central bus station to Hønefoss. Travel time is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

From Oslo Airport Gardermoen you can take the airport express buss to Hønefoss.

By train

The train between Oslo and Bergen stops at Hønefoss. For timetables and booking, please contact the Norwegian State Railways (NSB).
