There are numerous cross-country ski trails in Ringerike. At Ringkollen and Kleiva you will find floodlit tracks. Ringkollen also offers downhill skiing and a snowboard park.
When the ice is solid on Tyrifjorden you see people sitting by a hole trying to catch fish. You can also go ice skating in Ringerike, if the conditions are good, you can even go ice skating on the fjords and lakes.
Vikerfjell is one of the closest mountains to Oslo, only 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car. Here you have 70 kilometers with prepared cross-country trails, some of them going all the way to the mountain. On clear days you have a fantastic view from here. There is also a small lift giving you the possibility of downhill skiing.
