Lake Bandak with the Telemark Canal and Lake Nisser/Lake Vråvatn leading to the Arendal Watercourse, are the two major watercourses running through the county.
The area has a number of additional, smaller lakes, with opportunities for fishing activities, summer as well as winter. They hold an abundance of trout, whitefish, char and perch.
In the entire area you'll find towering mountains with peaks over 3,600 feet above sea level, with a network of marked walking routes.
Vrådal is proud of its cultural heritage and the many exciting attractions in the area, such as the antique boat M/S Fram on lake Nisser, the Telemark Canal, Morgedal, the birth place of modern skiing, Kviteseid Rural Museum, an assembly of old houses from different parts of the area, and also the stone church built in 1260.
The area has a rich tradition of local costumes ("bunader") and a style of painting, called "rosemaling" in Norwegian, consisting of floral designs commonly used for decorating furniture.
