Getting to Trysil and Around

Located in the heart of Scandinavia, 130 miles from Oslo and 292 miles from Stockholm. Trysil can be accessed by car or bus.

By car

Trysil is easily reached by car. From Oslo, the journey time is two hours and 30 minutes.

Follow the E6 towards Trondheim. Then drive 67 miles and turn right at the sign to Elverum/Trysil. Drive further for 15 miles until you reach the road rv. 25 where you take a right turn towards Elverum. Continue straight through the roundabout in Elverum, through the tunnel under the town center, then onwards to Trysil (approximately 41 miles).

By ferry

From Denmark, the ferry companies DFDS, Fjord Line, Stena Line and Color Line bring you safely to Norway. From Fredrikshavn to Oslo you can go with Stena Line, and you can take the DFDS ferry to Oslo from Copenhagen. From Hirtshals to Larvik you can take the Color Line, and the Fjord Line ferry will take you from Hirtshals to Langesund. Color Line and Stena Line are also the ferry carriers for guests from Germany and the Netherlands. Visitors from these countries travel either on the MS Color Magic or the MS Color Fantasy from Kiel to Oslo. Another option is to travel with Stena Line to Gothenburg. Both companies sell complete ski holiday packages in Trysil, with the ferry ticket included.

By bus

Going by bus to Trysil is easy with the Trysilekspressen. The Trysil Express Bus operates a fast route between Oslo, Oslo's Airport Gardermoen and Trysil. There are several departures a day throughout the year. In the winter advance booking will be necessary as the buses tend to sell out.

Buses run between Copenhagen/Malmö/Gothenburg and Oslo on a daily basis. Change to Trysilekspressen (see above) in Oslo.

In the winter you can also travel by bus from Stockholm to Trysil every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

By plane

Norway's main airport Oslo Airport Gardermoen is just a two-hour drive (100 miles) from Trysil. Take the express bus or rent a car.

By train

Departing from Oslo city center, Oslo Airport Gardermoen and other main cities, you can also reach Trysil by train. Trains arrive at Elverum, 43 miles from Trysil. From Elverum, express buses depart for Trysil several times a day.
