In Valdres, you will find unique souvenirs to bring back home. The main sales outlets are at the Valdres Folkemuseum, Husfliden in Fagernes and Beitostølen Souvenir & Brukskunst. Some of the hotels in Valdres also have a selection of souvenir items. If you are looking for hand-made products, such as silver jewellery, ceramics or other arts and crafts, you can visit local galleries and outlets where you can observe the production process and buy directly from the producers.
Typical Valdres souvenirs are hand-made silver jewellery, hand-woven products such as the unique Christian carpet (visit Marit Anny's Vevstogo in Lomen), ceramics, paintings, wood carvings, leather and furs. Your will also find other "typical" Norwegian souvenirs such as the popular elk and trolls.
Arts and crafts
There are many local artists in Valdres. Some of them have their own gallery open for the public.
You can also visit Galleri Perrongen in Fagernes where different local artists are represented throughout the year.
The Beitohallen Art Gallery, is located at the Radisson BLU Resort Hotel in Beitostølen. The gallery has 700 square meters filled with figurative art. This is the largest of its kind in Norway and both local and national artists are represented.
Jewellery
Valdres is well-known for its unique jewellery made from gold, silver, wood and leather. Visit Valdres Sølvsmie & Keramikk (silversmith and ceramics), Hovda Sylv & Tre (silver and woodwork) in Dale and Eli’s Tre & Skinnatelier (wood and leather) in Etnedal. Valdres also has its own jewellery collection with the unique Valdres symbol.
Farm products
Many farms produce and sell their own products and you can visit them at their locations. Valdres is famous all over Norway for its “rakfisk” - salted and semi-fermented trout. You can buy the rakfisk at Nordaker Gård. Rakfisk, sausages, cheeses, different types of cured meat, locally brewed beer, ice cream and chocolate can all be bought in the local grocery stores.
Shopping in Fagernes
Fagernes has two shopping centres and some small shops along the main street.

Fagernes Shopping Centre
Fagernes Kjøpesenter has 22 shops and is located in the middle of Fagernes. It is easily accessible from the E16, or from the town centre.

AMFI Valdres (Shopping Center, Leira)
AMFI Valdres is located in Leira, close to the E16. The shopping centre has 21 shops in all categories and a cafeteria.

Gjensidigegården Shopping Centre
Gjensidigegården is located in Fagernes, along the E16. The shopping centre has 10 shops and a cafeteria.

Valdrestunet is located in Bagn, in the southern part of Valdres and has seven shops and a cafeteria.
