Romerike is a district located less then 20 minutes by car northeast of Oslo. It lies in the county of Akershus, and consists of the following municipalities:
Romerike has approximately 240,000 inhabitants. The region's two main towns are Lillestrøm and Jessheim.
Over the past 10 years Romerike has developed tremedously. In 1998 Norway’s main airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen, was moved to the region. Norway Trade Fairs has also moved to Romerike. Romerike is therefore an attractive place for conferences, exhibitions, fairs and events.
The Eidsvoll 1814 Museum
It was here that the Norwegian Constitution was prepared in those eventful spring days of 1814.
In the new visitor centre Wergeland's hus there is for example an exciting interactive exhibition about the Constitution and the history of democracy in Norway.

Byrud Emerald Mines
Join in an exiting emerald hunt, where yot get to keep any emeralds you find. Visit the souvenir shop, which sells hand-made emerald and stone products and much more. Situated by Lake Mjøsa, close to Eidsvoll 1814. Sign-posted from the main road rv. 33.
Norway's largest inland lake.
This preserved and restored paddle steamer is over 150 years old but continues to run a timetabled service in the summer months. Skibladner sails between the villages and towns around Lake Mjøsa as she has always done: Lillehammer, Moelv, Gjøvik, Hamar and Eidsvoll.
Visit "Fetsund Lenser" – a national heritage monument, timber floating museum and nature centre. Enjoy local food on the dock side, before you go for sightseeing with M/S Øyeren on the Glomma River and in the Northern Øyeren Nature Reserve.
Tertitten Steam Railway
Enjoy a nostalgic train journey with the Urskog-Høland line Tertitten with an original steam locomotive. You will find a nice picnic area by Bingsfoss Station. After this trip make a stop at Gamle Hvam Museum – an old manor farm at with exhibitions and domestic animals.
Winter in Romerike
Hurdal Ski Centre offers a wide variety of slopes suitable for downhill skiing, Telemark and snowboarding.
Newbeginners can learn to ski at the nursery slope. Three main lifts lead to the top of in total nine slopes.
There are also groomed tracks for cross-country skiing at Hurdal.
Only 40 minutes from Oslo Airport Gardermoen, Hurdal tempts you with a enjoyable family skiing holiday within relaxed surroundings.
