Shopping in Nordmøre and Romsdal

Shopping centres and smaller, specialised boutiques selling anything from gourmet food to hand-crafted souvenirs can be found in Nordmøre and Romsdal.

The most popular souvenirs from the region are knitted sweaters and cardigans, pewter, silverware, porcelain, hand-painted or rose-patterned wooden items, goat and reindeer skins, woven wall hangings, furs, handicrafts, glass, crystal and pottery. You can also buy locally made souvenirs directly from several galleries and artists in the region.

If you would like to taste, eat or drink something typical for Romsdal, try "potetball" (dinner made of potatoes), "svele" (a local pancake) or "ananasbrus" (a local pineapple-flavoured soft drink). There are several local food producers, and the use of local ingredients is getting increasingly popular in cafés and restaurants.
