Bus and express boats
Although there are great connections from both Bergen and Stavanger to Oslo, the best way to really get to see the region is to travel by bus or express boat.
Both Nordled and Fjord1 operate express boats in the region. There is a great express bus service that connects Stavanger, Bergen and Ålesund. It allows you to travel between the towns and to make stops along the way.
There are also regular bus routes and some tourist routes that will bring you to great sights.
Stavanger, Bergen, Flåm and Åndalsnes have great train connections to Oslo. The Norwegian State Railway NSB offers two main entries into Fjord Norway: the Bergen Railway and the Southern Railway. In addition, you can enjoy adventures on Flåmsbana and the Rauma Railway. Best in daylight! See nsb.no for more information.
