Sami products, silver jewelry and ceramics are among the many souvenirs you can buy when you visit Finnmark.

Handicrafts

In Finnmark you will find a great variety of high quality souvenirs such as glass, wood, ceramics, jewellery, paintings, wool, knitted products and typical Sami products such as knives and textiles. In several places it is even possible to watch the craftsmen at work. The local tourist information will tell you where to find handicrafts at your chosen destination.

Silver

The first silversmith in Finnmark was established in 1959 in Kautokeino by Frank and Regine Juhls. They started in a small cottage in Kautokeino, but today the silver gallery has developed to be quite an architectural attraction. Juhl's Silvergallery offers traditional and exclusive modern jewellery made on the premises. International art and handicrafts are presented in a beautiful and unique setting.

Knives

Sami knives have been produced by the Strømeng family for five generations. These knives are a universal product in daily use among the Sami people. In Karasjok you may visit the place where this family manufactures and sells the traditional knives. Kautokeino also have its own knifemaker.

Glass

In 1989 Daniela Salathé moved from her native Switzerland to the shores of the village of Berlevåg on the Varanger Peninsula, where she started producing handcrafted souvenirs and utensils made of melted and shaped glass. The colours and design of her products are inspired by the Arctic culture and nature in Finnmark, and you will find them in her studio in Berlevåg, as well as in some other handicraft shops in Finnmark. In Karasjok you can also visit Boble Glasshytte in Sapmi Park.
