The best campsites in Norway

Camping with tents, trailers and caravans is very popular in Norway during summer. Find the best campsites for your next holiday.

There are possibilities for camping with caravans, trailers and tents throughout Norway. Along the coast and by lakes are good places to find campsites, but you will find them in the mountains and wilderness and inland areas, too. Find a list of campsites.

Byrkjelo Camping in Fjord Norway

Norwegian Caravan Club awarded Byrkjelo Camping in Fjord Norway the best campsite in Norway in 2009.

Byrkjelo is a clean and organised place for camping. The owners have a constant focus on further development. The service is excellent and the sanitarian standard is high.  There is a large and heated outdoor pool, and a smaller one for children. There is a garden house for barbeques, and a building with showers and bathrooms. The campsite has broadband connection.

Exploring the fjords is a must when you visit this part of Norway. There are gook hiking trails in the area around Byrkjelo.

Grindafjord Feriesenter Camping

Norwegian Caravan Club awarded Grindafjord feriesenter outside Haugesund the best campsite in Norway in 2008.

The family run campsite is situated in a rolling terrain, which makes the almost 400 trailers uniquely hidden by nature, each with a spot on its own.

The service is of high standard.

Nordal Turistsenter Camping

Norwegian Caravan Club awarded Nordal Turistsenter in Lom the best campsite in Norway in 2006.

For over one hundred years the Nordal family has welcomed camping travellers to their "home". Today the modern four-star site has approximately 110 spots for tents, mobile homes and caravans. The site also offers 64 cabins, most with their own shower and toilet.

Service house
At the site you will find a unique service house with private bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen with a dish washer and microwave oven, and a cosy television room.

Guests also have access to a pub, cafeteria, dining room, minimarket, sauna, solarium and an indoor swimming pool. In addition there is a nice playground for children.

Activities
Located next to a river in the heart of Lom, you have short distances to fishing, rafting, Lom Stave Church and nature trails.

The campsite at Nordal Turistsenter is a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Gudbrandsdalen. It is also a good starting point for hiking and biking in the mountains of Jotunheimen and trips to the fjords of Western Norway.
