Norwegian traditional folk singer Sinikka Langeland turns 60 years old, and is celebrated with this concert.
The concert opens with the release of Sinikka's newest solo album Wolf Rune. Wolf Rune is an excellent example of her versatility. A woodland finnish wolf rune side by side with improvisations on a kantele with 5 strings as well as poetry set to music. Sinikka plays several kanteles, and thus shows her great talent as an instrumentalist.
Pictures by the painter Tore Hansen will be shown during the concert.
Sinikka's great 60-year celebration continues with the premiere of the project Vind og Sol (Wind and Sun), in which Sinikka has set poems by Jon Fosse to music. The music is based on folk tunes, but she also strives to enhance Fosse's poetry's timelessness with musicians who create a modern form of expression.
Photographer Dag Alveng's pictures of wetern Norway accompany this concert.
