A1 - Skalldyrfestivalen

Overview

a1 to Skalldyrfestivalen! The British-Norwegian pop group a1 consists of Ben Adams, Mark Read, Paul Marazzi and Christian Ingebrigtsen. Yes, you read correctly. Finally they are all four !! But first; story. The band got their first breakthrough in the UK in 1999 with several singles from the debut album, and began the 2000s with a number of international top 10 and number-1 hits; Caught In The Middle, Same Old Brand New, Take On Me, Everytime - to name a few. a1 achieved tremendous success in the UK, Europe and much of Asia, and sold over 10 million albums. In 2001, they won the Brit Award for Best British Newcomers, but then in 2002 they decided to take a break from a1 to work on solar projects. 7 years later, the evening came, which was supposed to be a small performance on a popular TV show in Norway, but which was something that aroused the good band feeling again. Over their response and record-high audience numbers, they competed with over 70 concerts only in Norway in 2010-2012, and two new studio albums were released; Waiting For Daylight (2010) and Rediscovered (2012) with radiohitter such as Don’t Wanna Lose You Again, Take You Home, and Waiting For Daylight.

In the fall of 2018, a1 went on the 20th anniversary reunion tour in Asia where they played for sold out arenas, and this was where they brought in the fourth band member, Paul Marazzi, for the first time in 15 years. The guys are really happy to be full again, and are looking forward to new concerts in 2019! In connection with the 20th anniversary, the band released the single "Armor" in the fall of 2018, and in 2019 they continue to tour in Norway, England and Europe.

#funfact; When their first concert in London in November was announced, it sold out in 4 minutes!
