Acoustic Landscapes 2023: DJANGO Friday

💜💜 ACOUSTIC LANDSCAPES 2023 - DJANGO FRIDAY 💜💜OPENING CONCERT AT 7PM IN THE CONCERT HALL AT RINGVEOLA ERLIEN & GUSTAV SKAARET / ADRIEN MOIGNARD & DIEGO IMBERTOla Erlien & Gustav Skaaret play the Django music at a historically high level that has never been done by any Norwegian guitarist before, perhaps with the exception of Robert Normann! It is therefore a great honor for the festival to present these two young guitar virtuosos to play at the opening concert this year! These guitarists literally ooze with joy in playing, and they also know each other extremely well after having both played, studied and lived together in recent years. It shows in the interplay which at times can be felt as almost telepathic, with an interaction and spontaneous exchange of ideas that few duos in this world can match! We are proud to have booked two of France's biggest stars for the opening concert this year! Adrien Moignard is considered to be the greatest innovator of tradition within the string-swing genre over the past decade, and is truly an incredibly creative virtuoso who masters the guitar to the full both harmonically, melodically and improvisatorily! Diego Imbert is one of France's leading jazz bassists and this duo is also current with a brand new record that was released this year; Django's Songs! We are looking forward to a perfect end to the evening with two of the leading performers in the world within the Django genre! And it is also rumored that several guitarists will play together at the end of the evening, it could be another historic moment that should not be missed! :)At 6pm in Café Victoria: PRE-GAME WITH JOSTEIN GULBRANDSEN TRIO - FROM DJANGO TO ROBERT NORMANNOn Django Friday, Cafe Victoria on Ringve is transformed into a jazz club when the Jostein Gulbrandsen Trio plays three quarters of an hour with music signed by Django Reinhardt and Robert Normann, described by many as Norway's Django in the 30s and 40s, truly a great hidden treasure in Norwegian guitar -history! This evening we can get an insight into the repertoire of both these two giants of Norwegian and international jazz history!Jostein Gulbrandsen is one of the leading Norwegian jazz guitarists today, and he is making the trip all the way from his hometown of New York to play this concert with his new trio, we are looking forward to it!Jostein Gulbrandsen - electric guitar and classical guitarGard Kronborg - acoustic fretless bassEspen Aalberg - drumsNB - the pre-show concerts are only for those who have a day pass, festival pass or master pass!Earlier in the day at 4pm there is a masterclass in Django guitar playing with Ola Erlien in the Victoria hall open to anyone who wants to learn a little more! This requires either a separate ticket or a Masterpass!
