Akerselva: River walk by torchlight

22 September: Autumnal equinox celebration along the Akerselva river

Annual event in honour of the autumnal equinox - when night and day are the same length.

A total of 4,000 torches light up the Akerselva river from north to south, creating a mystical atmosphere around the cultural journey. Experience light sculptures, dance, music, art installations and more as you walk along the river.

The event starts at 8 pm and ends at 11 pm. You can start your walk wherever you want, but it is recommened that you walk south towards the city centre.
