The Senegalese bass virtuoso, composer, and singer, Alune Wade, is celebrated in the global jazz and Afrobeat scene as a "super talent" (Germanyfunk Kultur, 2022). His versatile and deeply rooted approach to the bass establishes him as a crucial component in infusing new vitality into the African jazz scene. 

Hailing from Dakar, Senegal, Alune Wade has embarked on his remarkable journey, which has brought him together with a multitude of music legends, including luminaries like Joe Zawinul, Marcus Miller, Oumou Sangare, Bobby McFerrin, Youssou N'Dour, Cheick Tidiane Seck, Harold Lopez-Nussa, Gregory Porter, Blick Bassy, Fatoumata Diawara, and more. As a truly cosmopolitan artist, Alune Wade bridges Africa with Europe and the United States through his music, captivating audiences with his global sound and unique musical vision. 

Alune Wade is both rooted in tradition and experimental in his approach: African rhythms serve as the foundation of his compositions, around which he masterfully and effortlessly arranges various genres that seamlessly blend into one cohesive whole. In his sixth and next album “New African Orleans”, slated for release in spring 2025, Alune Wade explores the diverse connections between his West African rhythms, Lagos Afrobeat, and the immortal brass band repertoire of New Orleans. “I am delving into a world that stretches from my roots to the lost branches on the other side of the Atlantic”, explains the Senegalese musician.
