Welcome to an artist talk with the artist Anna Odell and the exhibition "Reconstruction - Psyket" on the 2nd floor of the museum's main building at Nidaros Cathedral (Bispegata 7B).

On Saturday 5 October, a new exhibition "Reconstruction - Psyche" opens with works by Anna Odell. The video work "Reconstruction - Psyket" explores complex dynamics and ethical boundaries within psychiatric care, based on Odell's own experiences from a psychiatric ward.


The core of the exhibition is a video installation in which Odell revisits her time in a psychiatric ward and sheds light on a controversial relationship she had with a male carer, which resulted in a pregnancy. This relationship, which clearly violated professional ethical guidelines, eventually led to her being discharged from the department. The installation features a filmed discussion among psychiatric professionals, who discuss Odell's story without knowing about the personal connection between patient and carer, gradually uncovering the ethical implications of such situations.
