Chet Baker's voice and trumpet is the narrator's voice in the cooljazz. But how do the stories sound in our own mothers tounge? Hurt. And at the same time irresistably cool - this is how Chet Baker's music is described. How do one listen with new ears on the most known classics from jazz literature? And how to interpret a giant like Chet Baker in a new, Norwegian context?
Baker Hansen have since 2010 made his musical stories, based on music that Chet Baker played. The histories are timeless and well known, but the lyrics is reworked to Norwegian and performed on dialect by vocalist Sigurd Rotvik Tunestveit from Ål in Hallingdal. On our own goal, the music and the content comes close to us - and the concerts becomes an ear opening experience that an audience who have been to over 150 concerts in Norway and Sweden can talk about.
