13 February, Sentralen: A J.S. Bach hit parade

J. S. Bach hit parade with Barokkanerne Baroque Orchestra and Leila Schayegh

Johann Sebastian Bach clearly knew what was his best motifs and melodies, as he used them several times in concertos, cantatas and organ works. With this as their starting point, the musicians in the Oslo-based early music ensemble Barokkanerne have compiled a programme of some of Bach's best instrumental music – including both well-known and lesser known gems.

The concert is directed by the much sought-after Swiss violinist  Leila Schayegh, who is also the soloist in Bach's Violin concerto in a minor.

Sinfonia from cantata 182 - «Himmelskönig, sei willkommen»
Sinfonia from cantata 42 -  «Am Abend aber desselbigen Sabbats»
Sinfonia from cantata 156 - «Ich stehe mit einem Fuß im Grabe»
Sinfonia from cantata 75 - «Die elenden sollen essen»
Violin concerto in a minor - BWV 1041
Sinfonia 1 and 2 from cantata 35 - «Geist und Seele wird verwirret»
Orchestra suite no. 4 in D major - BWV 1069
