Bergen Orgelsommer - Bergen International Organ Festival - Marcus André Berg in the Cathedral

Marcus André Berg completed his undergraduate degree in church music with a specialization in organ performance at the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2011. In 2013, he earned his master's degree in organ performance from the same institution, with a focus on the French Romantic organ symphony.

From january 2025 Marcus  André Berg has been at Oslo Cathedral as Chief Organist.

He regularly performs solo concerts at Oslo Cathedral, offering a broad repertoire that includes improvisation. He has also been a guest organist at venues including Nidaros Cathedral, Stavanger Concert Hall, Bergen Cathedral, Ålesund Church, Church of Our Saviour in Copenhagen, Oslo International Church Music Festival, the Norwegian Organ Festival, and the Basilica of St. Peter in Dillingen.

Berg is also a composer and has written music for both liturgical and concert use. Two of his compositions—Stabat Mater and Messe i C—are written for tenor and organ, the latter of which was recorded and released in 2021. From 2013 to 2019, he taught organ students in the Talent Development Program at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and in 2019 he also taught undergraduate and continuing education students in church music.


Bergen international Organ Festival - 29 June till 24 August
Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, respectively in Bergen Cathedral, St. Mary's Church and St. John's Church. In addition, concerts in Nykirken (the new Church) and St. Paul's church.
