Mariko Takei is a trained pianist from Osaka College of Music, with a major in organ from the Grieg Academy in Bergen, and later from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Professor Hans Fagius as her teacher. She completed her soloist/concert diploma at her debut concert in Copenhagen. In 2016 she completed her carillonist education at Løgumkloster Church Music School in Denmark with, among others, Peter Langberg as her teacher. She has performed numerous carillon concerts in Bergen, Oslo City Hall, Stavanger, and Denmark, in addition to several festivals.

She is active as a concert organist both domestically and internationally and works actively to recruit organists.  
She is employed as a organist and carillonist in St. Johns church.

Bergen international Organ Festival - 29 June till 24 August
Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, respectively in Bergen Cathedral, St. Mary's Church and St. John's Church. In addition, concerts in Nykirken (the new Church) and St. Paul's church.
