Few horror films have been as influential as Hideo Nakata's Ring. The silhouette of the long-haired Sadako, and the infamous scene in which she crawls out the TV, has ingrained itself on the public consciousness of horror cinema.
In addition to its influence, Ring is notable for being one of the first horror films to utilize modern technology as an element of fear, paving the way for contemporary tech-horrors such as We're All Going to the World's Fair (2021).
