Dance performance with no age limits.

To Carte Blanche – the Norwegian national company of contemporary dance, movement and dance is a universal language in the everyday lives of children, adults and those who are mature of age, regardless of background and experience. Therefore, the ensemble welcomes the whole family to this year's Bergen International Festival performance BIRGET; Ways to deal, ways to heal. 

BIRGET was created by an artistic team with a Sami background and saw its world premiere in February. The performance explores dance and movement, scenography and costumes made from brightly coloured feed sacks often found in reindeer grazing areas. 

The complex theme is based on the Norwegian state's treatment of the Sami people. Simultaneously, the performance is packed with dance, music, impressive body control and mood-creating stage images. 

Over several years, Carte Blanche's family performances have received good feedback from the audience. Here, the audience is allowed to make sounds and move around at will.
