burn. // Great hall (Friday)
Strong, stubborn and real. burn. make liberating rock with references to both grunge and pop that appeals to the masses as well as the fringes, and that tears in teenagers and rigid adults alike. New music is due in 2024, and burn. are in need of a piss!
burn. consists of Edvard Smith and Rémy Malchérè Pettersen. The duo made their debut on the Norwegian music scene when they released their debut album "Love" in 2019 - an album for which they later won the Spellemannpris. They have garnered rave reviews for both their music and their live shows, and in 2022 the long-awaited second album, "Vandrer på solskinn", came out, which confirmed fire. its position on the Norwegian music scene. With milestones achieved and rock star status confirmed, Edvard and Rémy say that they themselves are completely unusual boys in their mid-20s with hopelessly large problems, feelings and thoughts. With two years since the last album, it's finally ready for new music from the guys and it's music that differs from the shameless debut album and the all-possible-weird sequel. The new music is marked by a wide range of emotions, where the guys acknowledge that they didn't have all the answers in their early 20s and that they are not as smart as they once thought.
“I think you become more neurotic the older you get. At least I think we have become. Not that you always go around stressing, but you learn from your own mistakes, and reflect on what went wrong, what mistakes you yourself have made, etc. Then you become more relaxed after you have reflected on it. Or not, who knows.”
Since the debut album has burned. toured all over Norway with sold-out concerts at Rockefeller in Oslo and in the Great Hall at Samfundet in Trondheim, in addition to playing at several of Scandinavia's biggest festivals such as Øyafestivalen, Roskilde and Slottsfjell. In 2022, they invited to their very own festival, brennapalooza., with full houses in both Oslo and Trondheim. Last year they cleaned the table at Tons Of Rock and it was rubbish.
In addition to a Spellemannpris on the shelf, they have also been nominated for P3 Gold, have been frequently played on the radio, and not least made several memorable
appearances on television.
