Bysommer: Thea & the Wild play Lillebjørn Nilsen

Hear Norwegian Thea & the Wild play at SALT!

With three captivating, critically acclaimed solo albums under her belt and a fourth on the way, Thea Glenton Raknes has established herself as a strong songwriter, live performer and vocalist under the artist name Thea & The Wild.

On Friday 31 May, Thea & The Wild will release their interpretation of the song ‘Bysommer’ by Lillebjørn Nilsen, before embarking on a summer tour with a brand new commissioned work for MiniØya at some of the country's leading music festivals.

Her music falls somewhere between the genres of alternative pop, folk and rock, and can be described as guitar-based, warm, organic, catchy, timeless, touching and sometimes even danceable. Thea has a nerve and a stage presence that few people can match, and you're sure to have a bunch of new songs in your head when the concert is over.

She's joined on stage by a brilliant live band consisting of Kenneth Ishak, Ryan McPhun and Linn Frøkedal.

Throughout July, you are invited to experience some of Norways best and most prominent artists in idyllic surroundings at the dock. Cultural venue SALT has created the concert series Bysommer (which loosely translates to “Summer in the city”) to celebrate the city of Oslo and bring positive energy to the hot summer nights.

At SALT, you will also find a large outdoor serving with sun all night, food stalls and bars – and several saunas! During the weekends, there are also DJs playing at the outdoor serving. Enjoy good music, food, drinks and the spectacular view of the Oslo fjord and Opera House as the sun sets!
