Overview

Georges Bizet's Carmen is one of the most frequently performed operas in the world, but the story of the female seducer is also a ballet. The Norwegian National Ballet now returns to the Oslo Opera with their very own version of this ballet, created by the young British choreographer Liam Scarlett.

The Norwegian National Ballet's Carmen was Scarlett's first evening-length ballet with a full orchestra, and is a full-format, classic storytelling performance. He has brought in set designer and costume designer Jon Bausor and lighting designer James Farncombe, and together they have created a dark and dramatic version of Carmen.
