A live version of the TV programme Hovedscenen with violinist Charlie Siem and presenter Arild Erikstad.
Charlie Siem is an international classic violinist who performs in venues and with orchestras around the world. He has also featured in campaigns for high end fashion houses. The British-Norwegian artist has played the violin since he was three years old, when he was inspired by hearing Yehudi Menuhin's performance of Beethoven's Violin Concerto. The son of billionaire businessman Kristian Siem, he grew up in England, receiving violin tuition from Itzhak Rashkovsky and Shlomo Mintz.
On stage he meets presenter Arild Erikstad in a live version of the popular TV programme. Erikstad is recognised as a versatile and enthusiastic presenter of classical music who has interviewed numerous international musicians in the course of a long career.
In an informal conversation the presenter aims to become better acquainted with Siem as a person while giving the audience greater understanding of listening to music and insight into the performer's role in bringing the great masterpieces in the programme to audiences. Debussy, Ysaÿe and Brahms are joined by other virtuoso works announced from the stage.
