The French pianist and composer Christophe Chassol says of himself that he steals other people’s ideas and build on them. By doing so, he creates something unique. He was originally a classically trained musician, but when he discovered YouTube in 2005 his approach changed. He started experimenting with sounds and digital manipulation, learning from all the videos he found there. A lot of this is now part of his music, and as he has said earlier, it’s all made with a big smile.
Big Sun, Christopher Chassol's brilliant album from 2015, concludes his trilogy of so-called "Ultrascores". The starting point of the Ultrascores is the dynamics between a film on a screen and Chassol's performance on stage, where the arrangements follow the film clipping in a refined manner.
The concert is part of the 2018 Oslo World festival.
