Our children's course takes place every week.
It is an oasis of creativity and fun. All children are welcome, and no prior knowledge is required.
The course is designed for children aged 8-16* and can be adapted if needed.

We work in small groups of 6-15 children. The course is primarily conducted in Norwegian, but English or German is also possible.
The course is led by Franziska, a trained educator with extensive teaching experience. The course starts on time.

The course is based on what the child wants to create**.
Most children come to the course with plenty of ideas. Together, we will find the best technique to bring their idea to life. Working with clay is fun and offers many possibilities.
However, it also has technical limitations, which may prevent some ideas from working—but we will figure this out together during the course.

After the course, the items are left to dry before being fired in a bisque firing, which takes about three weeks.

After that, all items need to be glazed. We handle the glazing, but the children choose the colors during the course.
Glazing is included in the course at no extra cost. The glazes used in our workshop are food-safe, and the items can be washed in a dishwasher.

During the course, the child will also learn how a ceramics workshop operates. The child is responsible for cleaning their tools at the end of the session.

Four weeks after the course, the finished pieces can be picked up.

It is very likely that your child will want to attend multiple Tuesdays in a row. This allows them to work on larger projects and learn how to decorate their creations with underglaze colors.
In this case, the items will be wrapped in plastic so the child can continue working on them in the next session.

*Children attend the course independently. If a child needs the comfort of having a parent nearby, parents are welcome to wait in our designated waiting area.
If the child has a companion, the companion can attend for free. A companion certificate must be presented.

**We do not use pottery wheels in this course. We offer separate wheel-throwing courses for adults.
Participants must be at least 16 years old to attend a wheel-throwing course together with an adult.
Occasionally, we offer longer children's courses during school holidays, where children get the opportunity to try using a pottery wheel.

The course fee of 250 NOK per child includes:
Children's class: 2 hours, including materials
Glazing: including materials
