Every day at 6:00 PM, the Trondheim Christmas Market fills with beautiful singing and festive cheer as choirs from across the region take the stage at Torvet. Experience everything from traditional Christmas carols to fresh and modern choral music – the perfect accompaniment to a cup of mulled wine and some holiday shopping. Stop by and let yourself be carried into the Christmas spirit with genuine choral harmonies at the heart of the city.

This evening, we welcome Buvik Songlag and Jonsvatnet Sangkor – two choirs offering a varied repertoire and genuine joy of singing.

Buvik Songlag, conducted by Håkon Grotnes, is a mixed choir from Buvika with 20 members. They perform all kinds of music, with a particular fondness for modern pop. Over the past year, they have challenged themselves by singing more classical church music, which has given them a great sense of accomplishment.

Jonsvatnet Sangkor, conducted by Bjørn Sigurd Skjelbred, is a well-established mixed choir from Trondheim with 70 members. Many have been members for decades, but the choir also welcomes new singers. It is generous and inclusive, with a versatile repertoire, and has participated in many festivals both in Norway and abroad. They are led by a much-admired conductor and always bring great joy to their performances.
