Every day at 6:00 PM, the Trondheim Christmas Market fills with beautiful singing and a warm festive atmosphere as choirs from across the region take the stage at Torvet. On weekends, there are often extra concerts at 1:00 PM, featuring exciting performances for the whole family. Experience everything from traditional Christmas carols to fresh and modern choral music – the perfect accompaniment to a cup of mulled wine and some Christmas shopping.

Trondheim Damekor is one of the city’s oldest choirs, celebrating its 90th anniversary during the pandemic. The choir even kept going through World War II, when choral singing was banned, by disguising rehearsals as a “sewing club.” Today, the choir consists of 18 cheerful singers – true amateurs who prove that you don’t need to read sheet music to enjoy singing together.

Since their conductor arranges all their music, the choir can choose freely from a wide variety of songs – often pieces no other choir performs. The conductor, a rock musician, has led the choir for 25 years. Their repertoire ranges from calm ballads to rock and metal-inspired pieces. Trondheim Damekor rehearses every Wednesday at Valentinlyst Health and Care Center, and new singers are always welcome!
