Choreography for two musicians – Marie Bergby Handeland (NO)
Choreography for two Musicians is a work where sound and movement go hand in hand, with two experienced jazz musicians on stage. Friendly chords are swung and lifted, dark sounds are circled, faint beats are sly and lured, loud bells are jogged and jumped, gentle interplay is hugged.
Choreography for two Musicians places itself within and builds upon several of choreographer Marie Bergby Handeland’s works, such as Håndspåleggelse (2022) where flutes playing moves in two levels, Femtimeteren (2018), where instrumentscycle in a large industrial hall,Six Moving Guitars ( 2019) by composer Fredrik Rasten; and Kirkedanseren (2020), where the audience dances alone to organ music. Andreas Røysum and Erlend Albertsen are skilled jazz and improvisational musicians.
