CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD – A CELEBRATION OF TRADITIONS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE
Welcome to Christmas Around the World at the Trondheim Christmas Market! Every day from 16:00–19:00, ten different countries invite you into their unique holiday traditions. Here, children and families can experience cultural heritage, stories, and Christmas activities from across the globe – shared through play, creativity, and warm encounters. Christmas Around the World creates an inclusive space where we celebrate what brings us together during the holiday season: community, curiosity, joy, and magical moments.
LITHUANIA – DECEMBER 14th & 15th
Join us for Lithuanian Christmas traditions in the Little Tent! Children can make beautiful straw snowflakes, a tradition that symbolizes nature, simplicity, and happiness in the home. They can also dress paper dolls in Lithuanian folk costumes, exploring Lithuania’s rich culture, colors, and patterns in a fun and creative way.
In addition, children can create paper angels – symbols of light, goodness, and protection that are commonly used as holiday decorations in Lithuanian homes. Through these creative workshops, children can experience Lithuanian culture and traditions, while learning about the symbols of Christmas, winter, community, and light, and take home their own festive creations.
Accessibility:
• The event is free of charge
