CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD – A CELEBRATION OF TRADITIONS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE

Welcome to Christmas Around the World at the Trondheim Christmas Market! Every day from 16:00–19:00, ten different countries invite you into their unique holiday traditions. Here, children and families can experience cultural heritage, stories, and Christmas activities from across the globe – shared through play, creativity, and warm encounters. Christmas Around the World creates an inclusive space where we celebrate what brings us together during the holiday season: community, curiosity, joy, and magical moments.

TURKEY – DECEMBER 16th & 17th
Welcome to the Turkey Corner in the Little Tent for an exciting Ebru workshop! Ebru, or paper marbling, is a technique of painting on water to create patterns that resemble smooth marble. This technique is often used as a base for calligraphy, particularly for book covers and paper in bookbinding.

Children gather around the water tray to create colorful patterns that move freely. They then carefully lift the paper from the water, transferring the entire design – just like people journey through life. Kids will experience art and diversity through Ebru, watch the colors dance and interact without interfering with each other, and enjoy the creative joy of making their own unique artworks. A creative and educational activity for the whole family!
