Concert with Great River Chorale
Great River Chorale is a 58-voice adult community choir based in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, USA that was founded in 2001. Its members live in communities across central Minnesota and range in age from 23 to 78. Great River Chorale rehearses weekly and presents an annual concert series in central Minnesota and it is the principal choral partner of the Saint Cloud Symphony Orchestra with which it performs choral-orchestral masterworks. The choir frequently collaborates with local and regional guest artists and has commissioned new music from Minnesota composers including René Clausen, David Dickau, and Timothy Takach, among others.
Minnesota Public Radio selected Great River Chorale for its "Taste of the Holidays" CD featuring Minnesota’s best regional ensembles in 2019, 2017, 2015 and 2013. Great River Chorale was the only Minnesota choir outside of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area selected to perform virtually in Chorus America's 2021 National Conference, and it was one of 10 choirs to headline Minnesota’s Northern Voice Festival in 2015. The choir is directed and managed by Dr. Mary Kay Geston and Barbara Brooks is its collaborative pianist.
