Pack your bags and get ready for a sensual journey to Japan!
Spontan Vinbar invites you to a culinary evening in collaboration with Kosmorama - where film and gastronomy meet in a tribute to the art of Japanese cuisine. On Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival week, we will show the cult classic Tampopo (1985). This is a legendary "noodle western" that celebrates the passion for ramen, humor and life's little joys.
Spontan's kitchen offers an exclusive Japanese four-course menu: two varieties of ramen, delicate sashimi of dry-aged fish, and a refined dessert. The price per person is 1150,-, and for those who want a complete experience, a carefully composed drink menu is offered that can be purchased at the table.
About the film
Spaghetti western is a well-known term, but have you heard of noodle western? Tampopo contains several conventions from the western genre, but the action takes place as far away from the Wild West as you can get. The result is one of Japan's best cult comedies of all time.
The two truck drivers Goro and Gun stop at a small ramen shop. There they meet the widow Tampopo, who runs the place and is struggling to keep the wheels turning. Goro gives her some good advice, and together they decide to make perfect noodles. This passion leads them into a series of cunning incidents.
Tampopo achieved cult status after it was released in 1985. The well-known critic Roger Ebert gave the film four out of four stars and compared the humor to the films of Jacques Tati. With its unpredictable antics and an impressive wealth of detail, this is a highly original and delightful film.
The film has an age limit of 15 years.
About the event
We encourage you to buy tickets together with the people you want to go with, so that you can sit at the same table. Please contact us at admin@kosmorama.no if you have purchased the tickets separately. The menu contains fish and cannot be adapted, please contact us if you have any other allergies. Doors open at 6:30 PM both evenings, and the film starts at 7:00 PM. The wine bar is also open from 4:00 PM before the event. NB. please note the date on your ticket, as there are two screenings on different days.
