The New York-based comedian Dave Hill is obsessed with Norwegian Black Metal, the exciting musical genre brought to international prominence in the early '90's thanks to a series of church burnings, murders, suicides, and other surefire attention-getting devices.
Recently, his desire to become part of the scene reached such a fever pitch that he couldn't help but reach out to a longtime member of the Norwegian Black Metal community. Fearing for his own life however, he wrote to him not as himself but as his alter ego- a 19 year-old kid from Gary, Indiana named Lance, frontman, leader, and sole member of the self-proclaimed greatest Black Metal band ever, Witch Taint.
The resulting, extensive mail dialogue, known amongst dedicated fans as "The Black Metal Dialogues", quickly rose to fame, and is considered by many to be the most diabolic, extreme and directly unholy correspondance of all times.
In the show Witch Taint: The Black Metal Dialogues Live, this infernal and 100& genuine mail thread is brought to life by comedians Dave Hill og Phil Costello, complete with corpse paint, black clothes, disturbing videos and – if everything goes according to plan – a living and slightly annoying goat. It all culminates in a live performance with the mighty Witch Taint, which probably will scar you for life.
The show is part of the comedy festival Crap åppå Park.
