Hand-picked dancers, singers and instrumentalists from the upcoming generation of artists.

The Festival youth performance is a cherished, annual event at the Bergen International Festival – and is an audience favourite which often leaves spectators both impressed and touched. For many of the participants, it's the definite highlight of the year.  

On stage, there will be selected pupils from the schools of music and performing arts throughout Western Norway and from some schools from other parts of the country. These are skilled, young artists who just might influence the cultural life in Norway and beyond in years to come. Several participants of previous editions have since stepped into the ranks with professional artists, and this year's Festival features a youth performance alumni, pianist Kei Solvang. 

The programme presents a variety of genres, with previous examples including classical music, jazz, folk music and dance performances. At the Festival youth performance, the audience gets a chance to experience young artists who have dreamt of and worked hard towards this day.
