Dim explores anesthesia – as a consequence of our times and as a tool to deal with this reality.
Dim is a dance performance for three performers, where a landscape of numbness governs their relationships and movements. Care, violence, indifference, limitlessness and desire vibrate along an uneven path, characterized by bodily anesthesia.
The play springs from an overaestheticised, accelerated and information-rich world where the sensory impressions become too many and too strong, resulting in numbness – a natural response to an overwhelming reality. Dim explores this condition and how it affects relationships, boundaries and physical presence.
The term "dim" means unclear and diffuse, and the play reflects this numbness through an exploration of physical logic. What impressions seep into a state of numbness, and what is ignored because it no longer concerns one? How can the boundaries between care and violence, closeness and distance, be explored in this veiled landscape.
