An exhibition about how Egypt became part of the European modernity
When Napoleon tried to seize Egypt in 1798, he sparked an Egypt craze that spread all over Europe. The exhibition Egypt in motion tells the story of how Egypt became part of the European modernity: How a Western audience was fascinated both by the monumental nature of ancient Egypt and the modern, technological movements.
The exhibition includes an exquisite selection of precious images in two and three dimensions that tell the story of Egypt in motion, as an image, an invention and a geopolitical reality.
