"Felefunk" 10 years + FolkJam!
TrondheimFOLK welcomes Øyvind Smidt and Felefunk - in jubilee costume!
Øyvind Smidt has brought a bunch of Trøndelag's best musicians with him when his solo album "Felefunk" will be celebrated at Dokkhuset, and we can promise a folk music experience out of the ordinary!
Øyvind Smidt, fiddler from Heidal in Gudbrandsdalen, is an innovative musician with an impressive range of genres. With deep roots in folk music from Heidal in Gudbrandsdalen, a classical education from the conservatory in Trondheim, and a musical journey further into bluegrass, rock, pop and jazz, he has undergone a remarkable musical journey that reflects both tradition and innovation. He is a frequently used band musician and works with artists such as Odd Nordstoga, Aasmund Nordstoga, Ingebjørg Bratland, Kurt Nilsen and Hanne Sørvaag. Øyvind is also known from a number of band constellations, such as "Bare fjas og blågras" and "Rasmus and the world's best band", and is often seen as a theater musician on various stages in Trondheim.
In 2014, he released the album "Felefunk" with self-composed songs. The music draws inspiration from Scandinavian, Irish and American folk music, wrapped in lively pop/rock arrangements for a full band with drums, bass, guitar, two fiddles and piano. With a mixture of respect for tradition and a willingness to explore new territories, Øyvind continues to enrich the music world with his unique sound. For the anniversary concert for "Felefunk", he has a bunch of Trøndelag's best musicians who reflect his own musical breadth. Perhaps Norway's coolest fiddler team!
Cast:
Øyvind Smidt, fiddle and mandolin
Thomas Lomundal, fiddle
Ronny Kjøsen, piano
Rasmus Rohde, guitar
Morten Berger Stai, double bass
Tore Thorvaldsen Sandbakken, drums
After the concert, there will be a jam and dance floor for everyone interested. Bring your fiddle/bellows/horn and join the Folkjam at Dokkhuset!

In collaboration with Dokkhuset Scene.
The event is supported by the Foundation for Performing Artists (FFUK).
