Fjellparkfestivalen (literal translation: The Mountain Park Festival) is the oldest continuous rock festival in Norway, and has been arranged every year since 1982. The festival takes place in the middle of July in the small southern town of Flekkefjord, and is a staple of the regional and national rock scene in Norway.
As the name suggests, the festival takes place on a small hilltop just outside the city centre, a natural amphitheatre that provides a great view of both the stage and the scenic Norwegian landscape of fjords and mountains nestled around the town of Flekkefjord.
The festival has been volunteer-run by new generations of youth since its first year in 1982, and has since the start focused on presenting both the best of underground local and national rock music, as well as the big national names in Norwegian rock.
