New Orleans jazz at Broen bar - Hot Allways in January

Fotveita Bruktjazz has been playing together for more than 30 years. 

They come from Trondheim, and draw their inspiration from music scene in New Orleans. The band plays rhythmic  20th century jazz, and the NOLA funky festival music. If you've seen the TV series Treme, you've heard the fascinating mix of musical tradition: jazz, marching band, r'n'b and Caribbean rhythms fused together in rhythmic fireworks unique to New Orleans.

There will be guest artists and a jazz battle - with philosophical reflections from Johannes between the beats - about the real message of New Orleans jazz and the songs.

Come to Broen Bar, Scandic Nidelven, to hear, listen, sing along, hum and dance to song, tuba, banjo and everything that goes with it!

The band members are Johannes Smidt (banjo and guitar), Jomar Frengen (trombone), Atle Kleven (clarinet), Jan Ivar Kinn Ekroll (trumpet and piano), Jens Storli (sousaphone).

Guest artist Sonny Breiby (percussion).
