Gautier Capuçon & Kim Bernard

An exclusive visit to Norway. 

The French cellist Gautier Capuçon has been acclaimed for his expressive musicianship, his exuberant virtuosity and his dedication to young talent.

Capuçon has an extensive discography and has won many awards, including the international André Navarra Prize and several Echo Klassik prizes. In 2020 his album Emotions reached gold status in France, and was number one in the charts for over 30 weeks. 

He constantly delves into the cello repertoire and extends it, performing an extensive selection of works every season. Current projects include collaboration with Lera Auerbach, Danny Elfman and Thierry Eschaich.

At this, his only performance in Norway this year, he is accompanied by the young pianist Kim Bernard, selected by Gautier as the first prizewinner in his new Foundation Gautier Capuçon. In Håkonshallen they will play Grieg, Brahms and the romantic sonatas of Schumann.
