Gjermund Larsen Trio "Christmas Sessions"
Gjermund Larsen Trio with a beautiful Christmas album! "Christmas Sessions" is released on November 8th and is a warm and intimate Christmas album. The trio lets the melodies shine with a strong folk music identity.
After playing their own composed music for almost 20 years, Gjermund Larsen Trio now presents their first Christmas album. On November 8th, "Christmas Sessions" will be launched. In a beautiful, folk music-influenced musical landscape, the trio interprets well-known and beloved Christmas songs in their own way.
Gjermund Larsen Trio, consisting of Gjermund Larsen (violin), Andreas Utnem (church organ/piano), and Sondre Meisfjord (double bass), has received praise, acclaim, and numerous awards since their first release in 2008, including the Spellemann Award (2008), German Phonographic Critics Award (2015), and the TONO Composer Award (2016).
The trio has long wanted to create a Christmas album, but only now have they had the time to make the project a reality. When Gjermund Larsen Trio performed with the Norwegian Soloists' Choir on their Christmas album "Veni - Songs of Christmas II" in 2022, it sparked extra motivation and inspiration to start their own Christmas project.
